Welcome to Thriving as a Teacher! This course is structured in four modules, each one revolving on a topic related to the teacher-student interactions. Each module contains four lessons: building trust, classroom structure, academic and behavioral accountability, and emotional management. The video lessons are unlike regular “lectures” in which you are just listening. Instead, you should think of them as virtual classes where you are supposed to reflect, complete activities, and even get extra practice on your own time. The videos are also a roadmap that will provide what you need to complete the activities on the student handout. Each module is followed by a live class in which we unpack these important concepts together so you have more clarity and confidence going into your classroom. Lastly, it is important that you complete the homework assignments as this will help you to be prepared when school resumes.

Course Review: Spontaneous Encounter

I stumbled across Knikki when I was researching innovative teaching techniques, online. I have been out of the classroom for over 25 years, and my first year back was challenging, to say the least.  I was inspired by Knikki's efficiency, professionalism, and intentionality. On a whim, I decided to reach out to her. Much to my surprise and relief, Knikki truly is one of those rare educators who integrates a variety of the most effective teaching methods, seemlessly. She operates within a structure of clarity, and purpose, combined with that necessary element of genuine compassion. Fortunately for me, she is really great at showing others how these valuable qualities can be put into day to day practice, within the context of an actual classroom. I honestly can't wait to learn more from her!
